Trimming the wick before you light your candle is a crucial part of caring for your candle.  When you remove the "mushroom" at the tip of the wick, you are guaranteeing a cleaner and more even burn, thus preventing soot or smoke. Trimming also extends the life of your candle by allowing the candle flame to flicker at a safe height and slow melt pool.

We recommend trimming the wick before each burn to 1/6-1/4 inch to ensure a safe and more beautiful burn.
